Edward Smart
Vice President, Security
Edward Smart serves as Vice President of Security at Envolve, where he leads security and safety operations across the company’s owned and fee-managed portfolio. He oversees security assessments, crime trend monitoring, emergency preparedness, and the hiring and training of Asset Protection Officers. Ed also works closely with local law enforcement to strengthen community relationships and enhance public safety initiatives.
Ed served 12 years in the United States Army as a Military Policeman, Narcotics and Explosives K9 Handler/Trainer, and Drill Sergeant at the Military Police Academy. His military career provided extensive experience in threat assessment, emergency response, leadership, and security protocols. Following his service, he worked in private-sector security leadership within the multifamily industry before joining Envolve in 2021.
