Daniel earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Georgia State University. He also completed the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

Daniel Hughes serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Envolve. He founded Summit Housing Partners, LLC in 1994 and later served as CEO of BSR Trust, LLC until the 2014 business combination that created the Envolve platform. Under his leadership, Envolve has grown into a diversified organization with operations spanning development, acquisitions, property management, and resident services.

Daniel began his career as an investment banker specializing in housing and economic development. His work advising state agencies, housing authorities, and institutional partners provided the foundation for a career dedicated to strengthening affordable housing opportunities nationwide. In addition to his work with Envolve, Daniel serves as a trustee of the approximately $3.5 billion Alabama Heritage Fund and sits on the College Counts Board of Directors and the Board of BSR REIT.
